Philip Silva’s work has covered a wide variety of subjects related to environmental policy and planning, with a focus on urban development, open space, and sustainability. Previous positions include Greenway Coordinator at Sustainable South Bronx, Assistant Director for Operations + Sustainability at The New School, and Policy Analyst at the Office of the NYC Public Advocate. He is also the co-founder of TreeKIT, an organization developing web-based mapping tools for volunteer environmental stewardship in cities. Philip is a 2010 Recipient of the iLAB Residency for Art, Nature, and Dance and a 2009 Fellow of the Environmental Leadership Program. He holds a B.A. in urban studies and an M.S. in urban policy, both from The New School, where he currently teaches undergraduate courses in environmental issues.
